Does HG *exist* in Central Virginia??

Are there any active HG sites/clubs around Charlottesville, VA?

I've been to the training hill one time, and would like to pursue the sport and see where I land.

But if I have to go to the Outer Banks to train it won't be worth it.

Any pointers?

You're in luck... Manquin Flight Park is a fine place near Richmond where they has tandem instruction via platform payout winch, and I think have added or are planning to add aerotowing. The training hills are a bit farther drive, if I remember correctly, the only one I actually made it to was Taylor's Hill, a nice tall training hill on a huge farm... somewhere in Virginia! Call Blue Sky Gliders at 540-432-6557 or a cell number at 540-480-3438. (Steve Wendt is the instructor's name and his official business home, according to the card I have, is in Harrisonburg, but I know the flight park is near Richmond).
