Myself and a friend are hoping to design and build a hang-glider as our final year project. If anyone can give us any practical help/advice (Except the 'dont build one,

greatfully recieved as there is little available elsewhere and british manufacturers have been a little less than useless. Funny that.

Regards

year project.

If you're looking for a building project, another post has already given you a lead. If you actually want to fly, a used glider would be quicker and better performing. Also safer. Either way, make sure you get lessons from a school. Self - instruction of hang gliding can kill you.

The advice Angelo gave about learning to fly before taking on the project is excellent.

By all means go ahead and build one, it should be a good engineering /design exercise, however don't for one minute let anyone even think about flying it until it's been thoroughly tested on a mobile test rig for all sorts of qualities you won't be aware of until you've been flying for some time.
