Not so fast. Yesterday, May 24, Larry Bunner flew his Stealth from Leland, IL, to Ft. Wayne Indiana for a flight rumored to be 213 miles. Time to get out the great circle distance calculators to see who really has the record.

Was Straub flying his Atos? If so, Larry definitely has the Flex wing record for the east coast (east of the Mississippi).

Davis was flying the ATOS. He has an excllent description of the flight on his webpage, I think it's www.davisstraub.com (go figure). Great flight for Larry... I've been hearing about his XC flying in the midwest for years, glad to see that 200 mile barrier broken up there: too many cornfields and cow pastures to let all those LZ's go to

Correction to the info on Larry's flight. Larry passed Ft. Wayne and landed 6 miles shy of the Ohio border. Pilot Greg Dinauer also flew and landed just outside of Ft. Wayne for 177 miles.
