Paragliding in Phoenix, AZ

Hi All,

I have just moved into Phoenix, Az (from France).

I have seen HG activity in the valley, but no paragliders... Do you know if there are paraglider clubs, schools, launch sites in the valley (and around)?

About HG. What shools or clubs would you recommend?

Get in touch from someone at the Arizon Hang Gliding Association (see http://www.ahga.org/). A careful reading of their web site would lead one to believe that the ahga is paraglider friendly. If so then other paraglider pilots are likely to be members and can give you the information you need.

I haven't been there for a few years, but the story used to be Phoenix sites were just physically poor for PG although passable for HG. PG is excellant at the little volcanoes east of Flagstaff, and esp. this time of year the Tucson area (eg. Box Canyon).
