I am interested in getting into this sport and I was wondering if you need any special training. I've read that you only need a couple of hours training from an instructor, but this was in the US.

I'm from Ontario - Canada (Ottawa area) and would appreciate any information on this.

I'm also looking into getting a paramotor and would like to know where I could possibly buy one used.

newsgroup. Thanks.

Paul, you can find relevant information at... Canadian web site: http://www.hpac.ca/index.html Ontario web site: http://web.idirect.com/~booktrak/ohpa/ohpa.html Ottawa Club:http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Lab/5038/

I only know of one PG trainer in Ottawa. You can find his coordinates in the Ottawa club web page.

ps: I'm also in the Ottawa area, and slowly learning to fly.

Any ding dong can run down a slope and get airborne on a paraglider. It does'nt end ther though. there is a lot more to learn about conditions , collapsed canopies and so on. Get a hold of the HPAC on the internet and find out where you can receive lessons in your area. It takes more than a couple of hours of flying to learn all there is to Know about paragliding and safety. Forget about the motor until you reach the advanced level. It's important to take this advice seriously . I hope this is of some help to you .
