Tissot (Swiss Made, www.tissot.ch) is preparing a new watch (called 'T-Touch', which will be available in a few months, probably in august) with altimeter, barometer, temperature, and compass, plus the usual alarm and chronometer. I saw a prototype shown during the big fair in Basel a few weeks ago. All the functions are easily accessible with the help of a touch screen. It has both analog (needles) and small digital (LCD) displays. Needles are for example used in the compass mode (as in a usual needle compass) or to show the atmospheric pressure tendency (barometer). Other data, like temperature, altitude or absolute atmospheric pressure (at the watch altitude, not QNH !), can be displayed on the LCD.

A similar watch will also be released by Hamilton (USA) more or less at the same period.

Quite frankly I prefer my £80 Seiko job- it tells the time and I take it from there. I had a Tissot once and didn't like it. I don't like all this unneccessary cack you have on 'pilot' watches.
