I can remember when this group used to get a lot more posts. Well I know it's been raining a lot lately but what is wrong. Has everyone here sold their gliders and bought boats or what?

Living in Scotland I think I'd be better off with a bloody boat. If this rain keeps up for another week I'm off to Nepal

It was cold, misty, overcast, a bit rainy, and hazy. So I went to fly anyway. The cloud layer was so low I had to kick off of aerotow at only 1600 ft. to stay in sight of the L.Z. Sled run, straight down, in the cold, stable air. Even blew the landing.

A truly great flight, however. One I'll remember always.

How so, you ask?

It was my first flight on a wing of my own. Awesome!

Rained since June here in Germany.. even the beer breweries are distressed because the beer gardens have gone bust.

Thanks, Mike. Just did join the eGroup. Didn't know it was there.

p.s. As you've told me before, it is much easier to foot land when you make your approach INTO the wind. Hard to tell sometimes, with the light breezes we get. Nailed my second landing, though, right in front of my audience. One of my best ever.

If I had the local privilege of a German beer garden, I think I'd bring an umbrella.
