Does anyone out there know the addresses of some good wind prediction sites? I'm specifically looking for the Northeast U.S. I've been scouring the net but can't seem to come up with anything. Any help you can send my way will be greatly appreciated.

Also, try http://www.awc-kc.noaa.gov/awc/awc-fd.html, this is the aviation weather center.

But, for the BEST forecast, you can call 1-800-WXBRIEF from anywhere in the US to get the local aviation weather briefer. Ask for winds aloft from surface to XX thousand feet (they come in 3000 foot increments).

Hey FloydR

Do you fly paragliders in the Boston area?? I am visiting the US in September (Wolfeboro - about 100 miles northwest of Boston) and would love to fly if I can find someone to fly with.

If you are new to weather reports and want something less technical, try www.uswx.com

for wind predictions, go to www.intellicast.com , click 'SAILcast', then click 'wind contours'

These two aren't much past 48 hours, but the weathew in the northeast changes every damn minute anyway so it isn't really an issue.

Where do you fly?

The problem with these types of forecasts is they only tell you about surface conditions and nothing about conditions aloft, which is, afterall, where you/ll be flying.
