Well...... (I've just landed to check the email alerts) in the case of the paraglider I'm playing on today (G-BZYI a 22+ year old Nova Phocus!) it got 365 meters of line, in part because unlike most of the gliders I own the Phocus is a four riser design..... so for that glider:

Answer B

PS I'm not sure of the line total but I've flown modern PG's with three risers but only 2 main lines per riser, so I guess they would be 'A' while some REALLY ancient PG's I've played with have as many as SIX main lines per riser so a total of 48 main lines (and a LOT thicker lines!)

Hi Vale

Interesting/surprised it's still as high as B.

Personally I would have guessed the average, at least when it comes to only gliders from the last few years (so excluding the 'historic' gliders I love to still fly) for the answer have been 'A'.

I did random check of a low rated glider (picked Nova Mentor4 which gets a B rating) from 2015, the Mentor4 shows the smallest size using 215m while the largest size states 258m of line but the Mentor is a 3 riser design. I don't know across the various manufactures whether the majority of gliders designs are 3 or 4 risers and of course that would have a significant effect of typical line consumption.

You are probably correct, I may have read outdated info, or it may have been written only regarding 3 or 4 riser designs....

300 m my present B glider only has 240m, yours must be ancient or you are on a very large glider.

Hmm current glider is an advance epsilon 5 D.O.M 2008 wouldn't call it ancient wouldn't call it new either. It's the newest glider I've had yet as it were. I've previously owned a nova syntax 2004 and a skywalk chili 2006.
